This is a solo project with all music recorded on a single track. It is mostly nylon string acoustic fingerstyle guitar. It also includes several selections of hammered on electric guitar with the left hand and keyboard with the right hand. Originals and handful of arranged covers (Emerson Lake and Palmer, Edgar Winter, Roger Miller and Chick Corea).

Emerson Lake and Palmer - Early Works
ELP is the ideal rock band to arrange for solo fingerstyle guitar. The excellent standards of musicianship set by the members of the band in the 1970s and beyond make my humble pursuit of playing their music perfectly, a continuous work in progress. My intention is to try to bring ELP's rock music into the world of classical guitar as beautifully as they brought the worlds of classical and jazz into rock music. All tracks on this CD were recorded on guitar only, with the exception of a modified guitar turned into bass added on tracks 1-6, 8, 9, and 11. There is a bit of background rhythm machine on track 1. Tracks 7, 10, 12, and 13 were recorded with guitar on one track with no overdubs. Track 2, Amethyst, is a Miles Davis composition which was apparently lost and never recorded by him or anyone else. I picked up the old 1958 print music to a whole set of Miles Davis compositions from a small town music store going out of business. An internet search of the song titles revealed nothing except one other copy of the print music being sold somewhere in France. A call to the publishing company of the music, located in New York and still in business, confirmed its authenticity. To the best of my knowledge, this is a previously unrecorded Miles Davis composition.

SPirits of St. Paul
- Karla Gransted aspires to be a jazz singer and Henry Thorvald would like to build a new church. Their ambitions get them mixed up in the world of bootleggers and gangsters in 1920s St. Paul. Can two naive Norwegian immigrants make it in the big city? The CD features well-known local Madison vocalists and musicians, including Kelly DeHaven, Dave Cooper, Michael Butkus-Bomier, Jeff Eckles, Joan Wildman and others. The musical premiered at Bravehearts Theatre in Madison in May 1997 and played to sold out audiences.
